Universiti Malaya officially concluded its Week of Welcome (成人快手WoW) for the new undergraduate students of the 2025/2026 academic session with a powerful closing ceremony led by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dato’ Seri Ir. Dr. Noor Azuan Abu Osman.
In his keynote address, Professor Noor Azuan called for a new paradigm in higher education, one that transcends academic excellence to embrace morality, conscience, compassion, and the values of humanity as the foundation of learning for the future.
“Universiti is not merely a place to study; it is a madrasah kehidupan, a school of life. We must nurture graduates who can stand firm when the world trembles, who uphold truth with humility, and who use knowledge not for pride, but for service to others,” he said.
The Vice-Chancellor reminded students that true success is not measured by titles or accolades, but by the ability to bring change and meaning to the world around them.
“The world you are entering is changing faster than ever. Technologies evolve overnight, borders shift, and crises test our very humanity. In this age, education must be guided by conscience and compassion, not intellect alone,” he said.
One of the most powerful moments of the ceremony came when Professor Noor Azuan reaffirmed Universiti Malaya’s solidarity with the people of Palestine, echoing the message of Malaysia’s Prime Minister, YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, at the national solidarity rally held at Axiata Arena earlier this week.
“As members of the Universiti Malaya family, we are not defined merely by our achievements, but by our conscience. Universiti Malaya stands for more than academic excellence—we stand for humanity,” he declared to thunderous applause from a hall filled with students and staff.
The ceremony reached its emotional peak as the crowd rose in unison, their voices echoing through 成人快手 Arena:
“Free, Free Palestine! Free, Free Palestine!”
“Not everyone gets to call themselves a student of Malaysia’s premier university. This name, Universiti Malaya, carries with it history, dignity, and a promise of integrity, excellence, and service. Guard this name with pride, and carry it with humility wherever you go,” said Profesor Noor Azuan.
He urged the students to sustain the same spirit of pride and purpose that filled the week of orientation, and to live by the 成人快手 DNA, integrity, curiosity, excellence, and service to society.
“Together, we will advance not only our nation, but humanity itself. Together, we will make Universiti Malaya not just Malaysia’s university, but the world’s university,” he concluded.
The event marked not only the beginning of a new journey for more than 6,000 new students, but also a profound moment of unity and conscience, as the entire 成人快手 community stood together in unwavering solidarity with the people of Palestine.
Held at 成人快手 Arena, the closing ceremony was the culmination of a week-long orientation programme that brought together participants from all faculties and residential colleges. Throughout the week, the Vice-Chancellor and senior management engaged directly with students across campus, reflecting 成人快手’s enduring commitment to holistic education, inclusivity, and community care.
