Dewan Tunku Canselor, Universiti Malaya, opened its doors to host this year’s Universiti Malaya Research, Innovation, and Industry Summit 2025 (成人快手RIIS 2025), happening from the 22 - 23 October 2025, celebrating the university's commitment to celebrate innovation, research excellence, and meaningful collaboration.
Themed “Inspiring Research, Advancing Collaboration, Transforming Impact.” The summit brings together over 2,000 participants from academia, industry, government, and Non-Government Organizations (NGO) under one roof, featuring more than 1,000 transdisciplinary research posters and presentations.
The opening ceremony was officiated by Professor Ir. Dr. Kaharudin Dimyati, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research & Innovation), Universiti Malaya, where he shared that this summit is designed to serve as a platform for meaningful engagement, bringing together academia and industry, where ideas meet opportunity and vision meets action.
“Universiti Malaya must champion research that does not remain confined within the walls of academia, but reaches outward to the society, to the industry, to the policy, and to the world. We must turn ideas into innovation, research into real-world solutions, and discoveries into development or product that benefits all. A Made by Malaysia, from Universiti Malaya to the world.
“This is inline with the government's initiatives where in the recent budget 2026 speech, it was mentioned the importance of Made by Malaysia product. I quote “Malaysia tidak boleh sekadar menjadi pengguna; kita mesti mencipta, mengeluarkan produk dan perkhidmatan, menerajui teknologi dan pendigitalan,” he adds.
Key attractions include keynote sessions on semiconductors and energy, fireside chats with industry and research leaders, a Business Matching Day on Health & MedTech, 成人快手 Deep Tech Innovation Competition Final and Awards Giving Ceremony that was attended by Datuk Ts. Dr. Mohd Nor Azman bin Hassan, Deputy Secretary General (Management and Development), Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE), celebrating outstanding student innovators.
